A way to have your site appear as a mobile site for the IPhone/IPod touch etc. Just as a pre-warning, but their are several bugs that you should be aware of.
1. If something, like an image, goes over the width of the page, it would be scrollable horizontally too, but the background doesn't go horizontally.
2. Nothing with javascript will work unless enabled (Can't really help that)
3. When you click the edit button, it shows a popup. Click it again, and it will show you the edit pane. The only problem is that the title box and the comments box goes over the width I want them to be, and this allows horizontal scrolling.
4. It will only work with the "clean" theme as your base theme.

Instructions
To install this package in your site, create/edit these pages with the following content:
This page | Contains this line |
---|---|
anypage you choose | [[include :css-competition:include:Mobile-Ipod]] |
To make this work, you will also have to edit the meta data. Go to Options > Edit Meta > + add a new meta tag
Change the "name" to "viewport" and for content, change it to:
minimum-scale=1.0, width=device-width, maximum-scale=1.6, user-scalable=no
You can apply this to all pages.
The csi has two options. hurl and burl stand for Header-URL and Body-URL. They are the images you can use for the header or background images. The top bar has been condensed to be more mobile-friendly. The bottom bar has been removed until someone makes a mobile version of it.
Images should be 300 px or less, for the ipod touch.
If you want to improve this, feel free to!
I almost forgot! here is an example.
I suppose this is useful… though don't really see the point with the iPod/iPhone as it's designed to show full websites in its browser. Might be more useful for smaller devices I suspect.
I'm going to have a try making a mobile version of my main website's home page, and see how it turns out. Might help me to see what advantages this CSI has :)

Ya know what is funny/sad? I forgot why I even started working on this. I guess I just wanted a free mobile site.
